Started working at the CMB as an assistant expert upon her graduation from the Economics Department of the Middle East Technical University in the year 1996. Gül worked for the Intermediary Activities Department between 1997 and 2002 and completed a finance program at the Wharton Business School during the period between September 2000 and January 2001. Gül has continued her carrier at the International Relations Group of the CMB between 2002 and 2006, during which period she has participated in working groups under the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and has contributed to the self-assessment study of the CMB on the Implementation of the IOSCO Objectives and Principles of Securities Regulation. Gül has been a part of the EU Group since 2006 and has played a key role in drafting legislation in compliance with the EU acquis as the coordinator of the working group on Capital Adequacy and the sub-group on markets in relation to the Markets in Financial Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).
