Graduated from Business Administration Department of Ankara University Political Science Faculty in 1990. She started to work as an assistance expert at the Market Surveillance Group in 1990 and then she worked as an expert at the Intermediary Activities Department and the EU Affairs Group of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey. She has been working at the International Affairs Group as the head of this Group since September 2007. Ms. Altun has attended finance program at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School in the US between the years 1997-1998. She involved in regulation and harmonization activities especially about the intermediary institutions recently; besides, she is the coordinator of MiFID and Investor Compensation working groups of the Twinning Project and also the coordinator of the Component 2 of Twinning Project regarding the Strengthening of Administrative Capacity.
